A road never fails from the top down. It fails from below, and by the time you can see it in the surface, the cheap fix is gone.

We were called into a subdivision south of Bryant a few years back where the street was barely six years old and already alligatored across both lanes. The asphalt itself was fine. The base was saturated, because the road sat slightly lower than the yards on either side and every rain drained straight into it. Repaving the top would have bought two seasons. We rebuilt the drainage and the base first, then paved, and that street still looks right.

Loaded trucks tear apart pavement designed for cars. Equipment yards, shops, warehouses and industrial sites need a thicker section over a stronger base. We build for the weight that will actually be on it rather than the thinnest section that wins a bid.

Road Repair, Widening and Overlays

Not every road needs a rebuild. We patch failed areas, widen narrow drives, rebuild soft shoulders and lay overlays where the base is still sound. We check what is underneath before recommending any of it, because an overlay on a wet base is money spent twice.
